Finished my first not-circular weaving ☀️✌🏽❤️
Wall decor weaving hangs from a single nail on a plain gray wall. The weaving hangs from a cream piece of yarn ~ the same yarn that’s been wrapped around the wooden dowel and was used for long fringe at the bottom of the piece. The fringe is nearly as long as the rest of the piece. The weaving starts with a deep purple weave for a few rows before transitioning into soumak stitches to create a sort of braided look. The soumak stitches, made using a cream yarn speckled with purple, gradually create a curve such that the left side of the weaving is longer than the right side. The cream fringe immediately follows the soumak. This image shows the same weaving as the first image, except it’s an angled shot focused on the fringe and soumak stitches at the bottom left of the weaving. This image shows the same weaving as the first two images. This angle, from the left, emphasizes the texture of the stitches.

Finishing up my first weaving on this loom 🧶 just need to get a dowel ~ I need to wait until I have the dowel to cut this off, right?

Weaving on loom with dark purple weave on top, braided purple and cream mix yarn, and cream fringe on the bottom. The braided weave creates a curve up on the right that also creates a curve in the bottom fringe.

how do we support the black owned brands in target so that the exclusive products don’t just get abandoned for this black history month collection?!

we gotta support them and then we can leave. shop the black brands only in target and then carry on shopping directly from the source.
