Looks like it got fished out of the dumpster. Probably a metaphor for the state of this country after all the regulations have been cut.

Third parties are going to do quite well in 2026, if the last few polls are anything to go by.

National only stand for corporate greed, hence their decreasing support. As their policies get exposed for what they are, which is nothing more than unnecessary austerity, they will drop further. Losing votes in at least three different directions to Labour, NZFirst & ACT simultaneously. #nzpol

Apologies for the late reply. It's entirely my fault people come to these conclusions. I have no experience designing or building things from scratch and it clearly shows.

I don't think you're wrong for questioning anything or being wary of new ideas. That's a good thing actually.

As always, appreciate the honesty. My personal opinion is that this name is a solid improvement, appears less divisive and is closer to what the party stands for economically. I agree that it's not a perfect 10/10 name which will excite everyone.

Due to an email mishap on my behalf, it makes more sure to start a new account with a new existing verified email. As opposed to having an existing account where the email had been terminated. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I can respect that honesty. I agree that indirect associations with neo lib stuff are not good. My gut instinct was to pick a name that hasn't been done before in NZ that is simple, memorable and gives at least a vague idea of what the party is about. My goal was never to offend or bother people.

What would be some of your suggestions for a new name?
December 23, 2024 at 9:09 AM
Essentially a mixture of corporate propaganda and heavy opposition from socially conservative voters.

You are right about things in this country going downhill, that's for sure. I respectfully disagree with the last point. But it's nothing personal and I can see that with the threshold being 5%, that it limits any real pathways for 2026. My intentions are good, I just suck at explaining them.

3/ Will it get anywhere in 2026?. most likely not. Like the first step with any problem is to address that it exists and be realistic about the situation. I'll be lucky if it can even scrape onto the ballot, but hey will give it a crack. After all, who else is opposing 4-year terms?

Be the perfect party that it sets out to be. It sets out a path to end the war on drugs, it sees an opportunity to implement "spare voting". With many other examples I feel as if the other options whilst yes they are far more professional, well resourced and supported, aren't always that inspiring.

However, especially within the last few months, it has dawned on me more and more that it ultimately will not draw anyone in, it's too simplistic. Even though it's intentions are good. The name as well, gets a lot of stick. That's fair enough. Main reason for starting this is that I feel it can 2/

I feel frustrated with where society is heading and probably due to my contrarian nature threw my hat in the ring. Finished last as an independent in Chch Central back in 2020 as an 18 year-old naive twat. I always felt categorizing policies would get the point across faster and more efficiently. 1/

To be fair, I have never been an explicitly good wordsmith or exciting person for the most part.
December 7, 2024 at 11:39 AM
I suspect this reply will get me and the party blocked. It is never the easiest proposition to condense policies to 10 by 10 lists, it does tend to limit explanations considerably. It will not be a strategy in 2025. The name certainly annoys quite a few it seems. The name is not guaranteed for 2026.

This Roy Morgan poll in particular had the worst combined vote percentage for both Labour/National in history at 56%.
December 3, 2024 at 8:04 PM
Probably a need for new parties and ideas, given the existing politicians are quite unpopular as evidenced by this poll.
