Another day another country! This time I,m spending a few days with one of my oldest friends. Should be a good laugh and he tells me the seafood is excellent so I won’t be eating Ryanair food, whatever that is?!

I noticed this lovely photo on the wall, I must have passed it by a few times. It’s the first time I’ve seen a photo placement like this in Morocco. I’m not exactly sure of the origins of this particular image but it was nice to see such a lovely photograph prominently displayed in the street.

I’m not sure the journey I’ve just taken qualifies for The Worlds Most Dangerous Roads but this was the best part of the road in to the mountains by far. Dirt tracks and rocks everywhere but the views were amazing.

Apparently I’m somewhere near/between Taghzout and El Hadada. Typical artist thing to notice but look at the near perfect mirroring in the negative space between the farthest tree and the rocks on either side of the road ….we stopped to drop someone off and I had to take a pic just for that reason.

The souks are a maze of small alleys the sides of which occasionally open up on to some beautiful courtyards with balconies.

Day two in Marrakech and as I have some time to relax and look around I’m visiting The Secret Garden which is set I n the heart of the city. Well worth a visit and it has a roof top cafe.

I have arrived in sunny morocco! The Riad is lovely, right in the heart of Marrakech and my hosts are wonderful. I am tres fatigue!

Sharp string lights refract and dance in hairline circles as my eyes strain to look. In the reflection of the table they temper and fuse with thousands of scratches that echo the dancing lines of their halos.

As a student I used to work in a bar in a famous Norwich hotel which dates back to the 13th century. There was one room in particular that the staff didn’t like going in to. Personally I took it all with a pinch of salt but a few people swore they had seen things.
