Wearing masks only when covid is "at its peak" is the opposite of problem solving. Its waiting for the problem you refused to solve, to get so bad that you have no choice but to react, framing your half-assed response to the problem you helped create as "taking needed action."

People who have watched me wear this mask for three years have started asking why I'm wearing it. They can't remember their own number anymore, so I'm not surprised. My boss has been coughing for a year and can't stay awake. His kids are passing illnesses back and forth constantly.

Running in after the wastewater is already full of covid and shouting "Time to flatten the curve!" is framed as responsibility in our society, but many of the people who are part of that curve are gonna get flattened too.

Rising media acknowledgement of Long Covid is a result of the public becoming less-able to ignore the accumulation of covid in our bodies, despite the numbing force of willful denial which our institutions and class-captured news outlets knowingly helped us accumulate around the subject. 🕳️🤙
