I'm the father of two sons and a Pomeranian. I love all things spooky. My house looks like it's Halloween all year long. I love reading, gaming, and movies.

I put out our spooky Christmas decorations in my lair today. I'm aiming to put out the kids' traditional ones in their playroom tomorrow.

Today I'm decorating my lair for spooky Christmas. First up are some of my new knickknacks. 🎅

Tonight I finished reading A Mannequin for Christmas by Timothy Janovsky. I would describe this novel as what you'd get if you threw the movies Mannequin and Hot Frosty in a blender. It was entertaining, but I wasn't crazy about the ending. ⭐⭐⭐

My hair is finally long enough that I can tie it back a bit. It will be nice to put it up whenever I'm trying to read.

I needed a notebook to write down important appointments and reminders. I spotted this fun Killer Klowns From Outer Space one at 2nd & Charles.

We woke up to some snow on the ground!

I'm really starting to miss having Joann Fabrics and Party City around. I've been looking for a red fabric Christmas tablecloth and it has been nearly impossible.

My brother and I used to play Friday the 13th: The Game together almost every day. I was happy to see a Funko of the Savini Jason skin. I really wish that game would get resurrected.

It's freezing outside here, but I guess it's still better than an oppressively hot summer day. There's a slight chance we could get some snow this weekend. 🤞

Tonight I finished reading Candy Cain Kills by Brian McCauley. This was a fun slasher horror novella. It definitely felt like the novelization of a lost straight-to-video horror flick. ⭐⭐⭐

It was very rainy and cold today. I really wish it would turn into a little snow.
December 2, 2025 at 10:25 PM
I found some spooky Christmas decorations at Hot Topic.

Happy Monday!

Casper and I went in Barnes & Noble today to see if there were any new Christmas children's books. I was surprised to see Tori Amos apparently wrote a kids book and even autographed it.

We decided to go back to Spirit Christmas to see if they had anything new this week. I found a couple of new spooky Christmas shirts and sweaters. The kids picked out a few toys.

This morning I finished reading When the Tides Held the Moon by Venessa Vida Kelley. I very much adored this historical fantasy romance novel about a merman captured and displayed in a 1910s Coney Island sideshow. It was beautifully written and illustrated. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Today I caught up on some movies and TV I hadn't watched yet. I watched Queens of the Dead and the Naked Gun remake. Both were funny and worth watching at least once.

This is one of the spooky nutcrackers that I bought this year at Spirit Christmas.

We had our Thanksgiving meal today. I'm still not feeling my best, so we just rested at home. All the Black Friday sales I cared about were online anyway.
November 28, 2025 at 10:57 PM
I bought this Lestat vs. The Countess artwork at a recent horror convention. I thought it was a fun mashup.
November 28, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Happy Thanksgiving! I'm still sick, so we're going to make our fancy meal tomorrow. I'm very thankful for my sweet family.
November 27, 2025 at 7:50 PM
I have come down with a nasty virus right before Thanksgiving. Hopefully I'll feel good enough tomorrow to cook. If not I may save our special meal for the weekend.
November 26, 2025 at 6:48 PM
This week I added these two films to my collection. I haven't watched either yet. Hopefully I can see them this weekend.
November 26, 2025 at 5:45 PM
Blood Rage is easily my favorite Thanksgiving movie. Eli Roth's Thanksgiving (2023) is my second favorite. Not that there are a ton of options out there.

Tonight I finished reading Mama by Ruby Jean Jensen. I was in the mood for some vintage horror, so I picked out this 1983 novel about killer toys. I thought it was an entertaining story, and it was one of the better Zebra pulp novels that I've read. ⭐⭐⭐
