Pretty rare for the first snowflakes in Toronto to turn into an actual accumulation, but it did today and we went out and played in it. @arteme12.bsky.social and I went to the zoo to cavort for a bit!

4 years ago today we lost the sweet old soul in the frame in this photo. He was a senior we rescued; 16 when he passed, we only had him with us for 14 months during Covid but he changed our lives.

The little guy in the box is here because we missed Devon so much.

He was also a Devon Rex; brown and white, we rescued him as a 14-year-old senior whose owner had Alzheimer’s and went into a home. We thought he might pass at any time but he healed and thrived with us for 14 months before we lost him after his 16th birthday. We missed Devon so much we knew we needed a Devon Rex kitten in our family. And you’ll never convince me that Devon did not have a direct hand in steering us to Winton.

Also, a lodged ball occurs anytime the momentum of a rolling ball is stopped abruptly and sticks or is stuck under the fence padding, shrubbery etc. Runners are awarded two bases when it is rules that the ball is lodged. 2. How easily a ball might be retrieved by the fielder should not factor in the decision as to whether or not to declare a ball as "lodged." 3. The determination of whether a ball is lodged is subject to Replay Review.
