The war in Ukraine is supposed to be for Ukrainian democracy but right now the president doesn't even have a quarter of his country behind him, even after he banned opposition parties, consolidated media, and cancelled elections.

The warnings from October 7 were so pervasive that random security guards were sending vague warnings to the head of security at the festival a week in advance.
But when passed up the chain of command, nothing happened.

Pro Maidan people will always say Yanukovych left because he was a coward, and they use that a justification for his removal. But he actually fled the country because there were actual attempts on his life, and credible threats of more to come
