I’m so sorry to hear of your father. Only recently has the whole issue of mental health been taken seriously and certainly not before Korea or Vietnam. We had Professor Sir Simon Wessely (Google him) talk to us at Conference a year ago and that was very illuminating as he discussed Great War cases.

Wendy is a very experienced medical practitioner and is correct in saying that using the blanket term PTSD for the conditions found in men from the Great War would be wrong. Being under continuous shellfire caused a very different medical state - more of the nervous system than a mental condition.
