We are literally still dealing with the shit our ancestors were dealing with bc of racism. I often think about where we would be as a country had we purged and punished those betrayers after the civil war. But noooo plantation owners were given reparations. Lmao this country is a joke.
The landscape of this country would be entirely different if the Reconstruction Era electoral wins secured by newly freed Black folks had never been stifled by lynchings and pogroms.
The violence now, after decades of wins for queer, trans, Black, Brown, disabled, and migrant folks, same energy.

I’ve always felt like cops were to protect property and rich people.
