In Tennessee this will mean a loss to over 18,000 families. Many of them in rural counties. And it will cut over 2,000 jobs. Head Start is a net benefit and cutting this program will devastate many. I'm deeply concerned about this. @marshablackburntn.bsky.social @billhagerty.bsky.social

As a former Head Start teacher, I worked with young children and their families to not only provide high quality early education, but also support access to developmental screenings, high quality nutrition, and health and dental screenings. Head Start is not just education. It is also health.
