Gen AI's ability to push out more "work" than an artist is exactly why its useful to its designers: to satisfy mass consumption. Quantity over quality. The future of creative works dominated by AI would will be homogeneous and shallow, meant only to be mindlessly consumed.

I recommend for literally everyone to keep a personal diary or journal in some form. Do it daily, or even weekly. But express yourself in them. Try not to hold back anything, since it will be your future self who's the audience.

In essence, I want a record of my daily life that I could look back on. Years, or even decades from now, it would be nice to look back on a certain day and know what happened and what I did then. And maybe have others listen to pieces of myself I was too shy to reveal back then.

Years back I did a typed journal, but my perfectionism had its demands, and it wasn't long until I had days with no energy to write one. With an audio journal, I don't have the opportunity to edit. I can just focus on recording my thoughts, as raw and unorganized as it may turn out.

A month ago, I had a conversation with coworkers and we were talking about how as one gets older it feels like time goes faster. Days, weeks... entire months get piled together as one hazy memory. Every day is unique, and I wanted some way to prove that where memory may fail to.

American car culture has made it so your ability to hold a job and maintain your livelihood hinges on having access to and being able to drive a car. You have any condition which makes it difficult/impossible to drive a car? Too poor to own one? In most of the country, you're fucked.
