#ARealPain was a very pleasant surprise for me: I expected a decent comedy-drama and got probably Jesse Eisenberg’s best performance to date alongside an excellent turn from Kieran Culkin. It’s a trim 90 minutes, it’s funny and moving, and it ends at the precise right moment. Easy to recommend.

#ARealPain was a very pleasant surprise for me: I expected a decent comedy-drama and got probably Jesse Eisenberg’s best performance to date alongside an excellent turn from Kieran Culkin. It’s a trim 90 minutes, it’s funny and moving, and it ends at the precise right moment. Easy to recommend.
#EmiliaPérez is a lot of movie, which is to say it feels like three or four films crammed into one, none of which quite blossom fully, and it’s a musical to boot. Some excellent performances and a couple of really good numbers, though.
