I have to be very cautious of spiralling when big awful things are going on around the world. I had this happen yesterday! Managed to write the outline for an entire subplot that ties in the goals and motivations of multiple main characters, amps up the main plot’s stakes and gave me tonnes of ideas for foreshadowing in the earlier story! Can’t wait to write it! Good luck with yours :D
