Hi guys and Happy New Year. I set this page up with while back but never had the time/willpower to maintain it. I'm hoping to change that going forward. Follow if you're interested in amateur analysis, relatively measured reaction and the odd take..Mostly Arsenal but the odd general football posts.
Much better 2nd half from Arsenal. Controlled the game better and more secure in position. Great for Martinelli to get a hat-trick under his belt which should boost his confidence. Also really good see Havertz come back and look sharp. Nice for Salmon to get his chance as well.

Really scrappy first half. Portsmouth really up for it as you'd expect but Arsenal's passing has been really off. Saying that we should really be further ahead with the Martinelli chance and the penalty.

Some brief thoughts on Gyokeres..I don't think the issue is that he can't affect the game from deep-i think the issue is that he tries. I think think are plenty of games where we can afford him to just concentrate on the final 3rd i.e making runs in behind and being where he should be for cut backs

Big win for Arsenal. Tough going at times with Bournemouth really good at him but came through it well and deserved the 3 points in the end.

What on earth is Adli doing?

HT: Quite a touch first half. Bournemouth have been really solid and their pressing has been difficult. Been difficult to create much apart from the goal.

Arsenal lacking a bit of technical security in the final third

Get in-Big Gabi makes up for his mistake-great work from Madueke. Bit of chaos in the box and he smashes it home.

Bad mistake from Gabriel. Under no pressure gifts it to Evanilson. 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth started well but Arsenal have recovered a bit of control

Haaland is simply ludicrous.

Arsenal's performances so far this season may not be have been emphatic for the most part but they have shown real control in pretty well every single game whilst conceding very little. There's a long way to go but what they are doing feels sustainable.

Interesting that versatility is seen as a real asset when brining in defenders but when it comes to attacking players the narrative changes to 'where will they play' or 'how do they fit in'. Maybe Eze's versatility is in fact a reason to bring him to the club
