GNI issued a letter to the Government of Pakistan today, in light of the amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) & amidst continued monitoring and restriction of internet access and social media services in the country.

Another year, another TikTok ban! The Global Network Initiative remains deeply concerned by recent efforts around the world to completely ban the use of specific social media platforms, which generally run counter to human rights law and due process principles.
