While the Cone brothers, Caesar and Moses, originally founded a textile business in Baltimore, their venture eventually led them to Greensboro in 1895, where they began creating their own textile mills for the production of denim.

On April 13th, 1865 (160 years ago), the State Capital of North Carolina fell to Union forces under General William T. Sherman. This marked a pivotal moment in the final days of the Civil War. Following this, the Richard B. Haywood house became the headquarters for Major General Francis P. Blair.
