I believe it is much more basic than that.

I think they are much lower on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. They have not progressed beyond the sense of belonging, and therefore are stuck having to rationalize why they are in the group they are.

To stay in the group, they spew some side shoot.
The Gen X Gardener has made Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needa into a Christmas Tree with a Bull shit start on top and a pot for the trunk to piss in. It has the normal breakdowns of Maslow’s needs, thought the “Love and Belonging” trapezoid is written in a different colour in order to stand out. Outside of the triangle with an arrow pointed to the Love and Belonging section, the following is scrawled: “I believe the dissonance is here. I do t think they are able to get past this.”

If anyone has any questions about the Canadian Carbon Tax, I would love to have a discussion.

I am a big proponent of the tax and offsetting rebate for taxpayers, though I think it was marketed poorly.

I’d also be happy to help you estimate how much you pay, and how much you get back.
