A yellow spider using its web to descend onto a green leaf. The markings on the spider’s body look—to me—like the shocked face of a cartoon character. The spider is photographed against a—insert your favourite artsy word of choice for—blurred backdrop of leaves and yellow flowers, the blurring intentionally created in order to keep the image relatively uncluttered, and have all the focus on the spider. The photographer (me) was in a mild state of panic taking the photograph due to suffering from arachnophobia.

A cat, Fluffy (short for Fluffy Little Ball Of Rage And Fury because she was a right little madam when she was a kitten. As an adult she was a sweetheart. Photographing dogs for friends & family over the years some (the dogs, not the people!) have tried to taste my camera lens, a couple have knocked me off balance, but—so far—Emma was the only one to lay “behind” a chair convinced I couldn’t see her.
