Absolutely forgot this account existed. I have read some books so maybe I'll slowly update starting with where I left off lmao.

The Babysitters Coven by Kate Williams was a super fun audiobook! Basically a babysitter finds out she's got a BTVS thing going on. The story had a lot of fun little references and I think the reason I enjoyed it so much is because it's exactly the kind of book I would have been obsessed with at 15.

Finished Burn out Bodies Down by Rory Power tonight. Ngl, I picked it up solely because it's a horror set in rural western Nebraska lol. It was good! A slow burn for real but once we got into the climax it was balls to the wall. Definitely an allegory for passing down abuse in families.

Hmm... listened to Something in the Walls by Daisy Pearce and it was unfortunately pretty mid for my tastes. I think there was a lot going on, but each payout along the way kinda fell flat. It did keep me entertained at work so it gets points for that lol.

Was feeling a romance tonight and D'Vaughn & Kris Plan a Wedding by Chencia C Higgins did not disappoint. Fell in love with the characters immediately and I do love the fake dating trope immensely so this one was right up my alley.

Did not expect to plow through two books today, but picked up The Mysterious Disappearance of Aiden S by David Levithan to start it and I ended up getting sucked in and it's a middle grade book so a short read about a boy who went to another world and then came back and how everyones coping with it

Absolutely one-shotted Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron today. Amazing, heart wrenching, could not put it down, and absolutely relevant to what's happening right now.

Just finished Roll for Love by MK England and it was a super cute easy read. I have a massive soft spot for small town queer folk finding themselves (and each other) and I love D&D so this book really hit 💖 "You can work through things in a fictional world that feel too dangerous for reality." 💖

Tonight's book was Sleep Tight by JH Markert. This one was a fun thriller, I definitely wasn't sure where it was going, and the best way to keep me awake at work is trying to figure out the mysteries before they're revealed lol

The Stars too Fondly by Emily Hamilton was a really good wlw sci-fi. Four friends are accidentally launched into space and three are given powers and they need to find a way to get home with the help of the ships former captain who is now a hologram, a hologram our MC is falling for.

We Live Here Now by Sarah Pinborough. Not gonna lie, could barely keep interested the first half of this book but kept up bc I was working overtime today and I am so glad I kept going bc around the 50% mark this book got really good. Went from basic horror cheating/lying spouse trope to interesting.

Before anything else, if sexual assault is a trigger for you maybe sit this one out. This one was wild. A very angry woman on a mission to find out who assaulted her sister and the guys she kills along the way. Told in a humorous way so despite it being dark as hell it was a good listen

Finished The Otherwoods by Justine Pucelia Winans tonight. Cute little middle school grade horror book ft a non-binary main character and their protective cat on a journey to save their friend who was kidnapped by monsters. Very fun and easy listen while I was at work.

Ooooo, just got my mail, and my little book haul from bookshop.org is here! Super excited about these ones. I have a little used book haul on the way as well so my tbr is getting a bit wild.

Loved Sprinkled in the Stars by Violet Morley! Sugar sweet wlw romance with autistic characters and obvs a happy ending between a celeb that literally runs into an EMT and her child on the street then they keep meeting. This book was so cute I didn't want it to end.

Finally listening to the new Ghost album tonight. Gone through it about four times now, it's excellent.
May 15, 2025 at 6:32 AM
Tonight's listen was Lord of Eternal Night by Ben Alderson. Made the night go by extremely fast and made every interruption by coworkers excruciating lol. This one can best be described as gay vampire beauty and the beast, it was excellent.
May 13, 2025 at 11:11 AM
Finished The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp tonight. This one was super fun, the protagonist is an absolute asshole and it was great to hear his story then get an outside narrative of the same event from someone else completely contradicting his suave telling of events.

Haven't finished any new books this week, as I've been listening to Battle Beast's Circus of Doom album on repeat as once Friday ✌️ definitely a great album to keep me awake for 3rd shift

Went into Ocean's Godori by Elaine U Cho completely blind, I'd never heard of this book before I hit borrow and I am SO glad I came across it. It's part one of a space opera duology (book two is out in August) I just eat up books about groups of people who all love and protect each other in space 💖

Okay, William C Tracy's The Spores of Wrath. Awesome, this is the third book and I love how the story progressed and we got to see how the characters grow. I have to applaud Adi Cabral as the narrator, they gave such life to the characters it was a joy to listen to this book.

Listened to The Wedding People by Alison Espach at work tonight and wow oh wow absolutely loved this one!! I can see why I've been seeing it on so many lists, as someone who suffers from depression this was wildly hopeful and a silly little slice of life.

Finished Midnight Shadows, an anthology of horror stories. Unfortunately this one was mostly pretty boring for me, but there were a few of the stories I really liked. I think my top three were: The Sea Remembers by David Green. Before the End by Chris Hewitt. A Friend in Need by KT Tate.

Finished the last hour of The Lonely Hearts Book Club by Lucy Gilmore tonight. I was so enamored with this book it was so sweet and I adored all the characters so so much.
