My Edwina aka Miss Grape, Mighty Huntress, and Little Skronkler.

Merry Christmas. End the genocide.

Even while homeless, I continued my tradition of making cards for this holiday season. I'm housed now and don't at all feel celebratory.

The second page is a mass of words in various opacities overlaying a lavender background. The very top words are opaque and bright red and reads: "And are a Bystander to those in Need" with intentional center alignment. The needs, all a mess in the background (because aren't they always?) say: of safety, of food, of water, of a home, of bodily autonomy, of healthcare, of a voice, of sanctuary, of justice, of healing, and lastly, of Humanity. Each need is repeated at least once.

The last page of the graphic is indigo, a color used in the Episcopal Advent liturgical colors, overlaying black. The words read: "you would have turned away Joseph & Mary, too." Then in much larger words, "Merry Christmas." All around and between this sentiment are the words: "End the Genocide. Please in Palestine" in various white opacities with the largest as the most bright and visible.

For their smiles, please meet Edwina.

Edwina is a funny, skronkly kitty. She loves attention, booty pats, and rubber band fetch.

Brindle tabby snoozing on a cream white faux leather chair. She is upside-down with her front legs curled against her chest while pressed against the back rest of the chair. She appears to be dreaming... likely she dreams of rubber bands.

Same brindle tabby cat on a different day. She is awake, resting, and reaching for the camera (or the hand holding it) in order to request lovies. Her jade green eyes have a slightly sad slant, as though she has not been pet in some long while. (This is a lie. Do not believe pro-Edwina propaganda.)

Here, the same brindle tabby is guarding her rubber band. Her Basilisk boops her nose, and she inquisitively sniffs. Behind her, her striped tail flicks. She wants to play!

Edwina, the brindle tabby selects another toy from her makeshift cardboard toy box, atop a clean tile floor. Off camera, a white bookshelf, and the corner of a brown shelf can be seen. Wuthin the toy box, many of her cat toys are visible, with their colorful feathers, fluffy pompoms, snuggly fuzz critters, and their chewed up bells, catnip mice, and ribbons. She pulls at one of the toys with her clawed paw to pull it from the box.

Here is a video of Edwina and her skronkle! The tweeting sound is my cat whistle. That and 'tck, tck, tck' get her attention!

Her meow sounds like a crackle, and she plays fetch with rubber bands!

This is a bowl of The Gall's take on Thai red curry. This coconut base curry is chock full of flavor and veggies! It is loaded with red bell pepper, onion, chicken, birds eye chili, and jalapeños. Atop the curry are diced green onions and a small serving of Jasmine white rice. To the left, a metal spoon handle juts out from the curry.

Waking up to feeling like I've been hit and run over by a Ford F150 is my normal. Bad days, it's a semi.

I start each day with 800mg of ibuprofen among my morning meds. It gets me to "merely trampled by dozen donkeys."

I have made some mulled cider. Please have some with me?

Self-care can look a lot of ways. Tonight, it will look like homemade hot apple cider.

I added all the mulling spice mix I had, more than double called for in the directions. And 4 tablespoons of Vietnamese cinnamon. Hope it's enough! 😁

I do have some fresh ginger...

Did something today I've never done before. Holiday lights. Sometimes, the little things are not so little. I can't say enough how good it feels to have permanent housing.
