Gift idea for someone who loves a good heist (even if it’s you): I really enjoyed THE PAYBACK by @kashana.blacksky.app. Loved the main character & the clever, mundanely dystopian premise, and found the writing sharp, funny, and stylish (in more ways than one - I learned about fashion!). Recommend!

Pretty sure it’s photoshopped, this is the original Two Virgins back cover

Oh man, I'm in Prague and just yesterday checked out the National Museum and their Hall of Minerals collection is *incredible* and their displays are just stunning. (They have a whole case of calcites too!) Highly recommend if you ever get a chance

Wow, DC Studios really pulled out all the stops to promote Superman. They just straight-up sent this guy to my house

Great thread. I just watched The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) for the first time and was surprised, delighted, and a little touched that Hitchcock had his frequent collaborator Herrmann play himself (with in-film credit!) in a pivotal sequence at Royal Albert Hall

Blew my mind to recently learn that the same person did the cover art for Love’s album Forever Changes and the illustrations for the game Dark Tower

Yes! She’s so good in that scene. I just saw Written On The Wind for the first time and Dorothy Malone is given a lot more to do and makes the most of it — she steals that movie too (and won an Oscar for it)

Watched The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) directed by Robert Wise, who seemed to be able to do any genre: sci-fi, Western, film noir, war, and in the 60s, Best Picture-winning musicals West Side Story AND The Sound of Music. Oh, and before all that? He worked as an editor. On CITIZEN KANE

Back in February 2021 I was so irritated by Matt Gaetz's smugness that I got fixating on drawing him, trying in vain to capture the essence of his distorted-doll creepy punchability.

I always thought the redundant picture on the chest was a weird choice, but this explanation makes total sense. Wild to have a tiny mystery of childhood finally solved!

Really enjoyed Project Hail Mary, the latest by Andy Weir, author of The Martian. Science teacher wakes up in space alone and realizes it’s on him to save humanity. Not that it needs my help — it’s a best-seller that’s going to be a Ryan Gosling movie. But just sharing something positive!
