Enjoyer of baseball stats, visuals, and data!
I want to follow up on this visual below. Let's look at vxWOBA by day to determine how teams hit on a day to day basis. How often do teams overhit or underhit the pitching that they face? I tried to visualize how often a team outperforms pitchers by more than or less than one run. See below:

What if we calculated a hitting team's xWOBA relative to the xWOBA they face? If you face 9 innings of Garrit Cole, that's a lot harder than 9 innings of the AAA guy who was just called up. Check it out below!

Shoutout to the MVPs, Ohtani and Judge. Who else was close? And who else was...not close. See the graph below for information!

Who were the best MLB Teams in terms of xWOBA in 2024? The Braves, Mariners, and Tigers take that title, as indicated below.

Also wanted to visualize how Skubal and Sale anchored those top rotations, so visualized how they did as well.

Who had the best expected WOBA in the MLB this year? See below!

This graph accounts for walks and strikeouts in a unique matter that is unaccounted for in statcast data. Feel free to ask why I selected the reason for the walk and strikeout WOBA values.

At the MLB Midseason mark, I tried to calculate a team's xWOBA relative to the pitcher's xWOBA that they faced. I called this metric the vxWOBA (Versus xWOBA). Here is each team's vxWOBA at the midseason mark in both raw vxWOBA and with it regressed into average runs expected per game.
