‘How’d 2 women who live halfway across NC team up?’, you might ask. Well! We met in the thick of the 2024 campaigns–let’s be real, in a group chat–bonded over NC politics, affordable housing, & astrology, & started dreaming. This pod is an extension of our dream for what a better South can be.

When the NCGA tried to block students from voting where we lived year-round, it meant a 3.5-hour drive to vote. That wasn't accidental—it was intentional....

Sometimes I feel like I carry two Souths inside me: the one I grew up in, and the one I’m helping build.

One taught me how to keep quiet in church, that church meant both hose and long skirts, sitting silent in the pews. It taught me how to cross my legs at the ankle.
