‘So where are the beetles’ said I as we approached the fence on Holkham beach. And there on the first post were a Cabbage-stem Flea Beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala) and a Dicheirotrichus obsoletus (I think?). Nearby, a Kidney-spot Ladybird (Chilocorus renipustulatus).

Another new aphid find from the weekend, the Bristly Mugwort Aphid (Pleotrichophorus glandulosus). Found by turning over lower leaves of Mugwort at Whitlingham C.P. No other iRecord or PSL records, but the usual caveat that aphids are very under-recorded nationally.

Sulphur Cinquefoil(Potentilla recta) is a perennial forb native to Europe and the Mediterranean, now widespread in North America. A forb or phorb is a herbaceous flowering plant that is not a graminoid (grass, sedge, or rush). It's seeds remain viable for over 3 years. #photography #nature #science

A gorgeous green mushroom emerges from the ground. Its stipe starts off yellow at the bottom and gradually fades to a light green over the course of its 2 and a half inches of length.
