Jack of many trades who loves good coffee and inspiring musical tools. I have high hopes for a better future than the world seems to want.
A neighbor turned me in to Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman. Absolutely love it. A great mix of sci-fi and comedy. Through two books and can’t wait for more. Too bad he’s not on Bluesky.

An architectural titan. Rest in peace Frank Gehry.

“License to Control” doesn’t have the same ring. It’d also make for an extra boring N65 game

I don’t know how I feel Rush going back out on tour. The announcement and joy of playing music is sincere, but it still feels off. youtu.be/koiX_Wspatw?...

Still in my sci fi phase. I’m nearing the end of the most recent Bobiverse book (Not Til We Are Lost) from Dennis E Taylor. I have enjoyed all five books. Read most, but did the last two via audiobook with the incomparable Ray Porter performing

Went to my first small, local music show in a long time last night. It was a 4 band tribute to The Clash. It gave me lots of fun memories and things to think about. I need to do that more.

I thought the Rolling Stone best guitarists list was bad. But nowhere near as bad as SPIN. It really reinforces how the music press can’t get over their own favorites to recognize the true landscape and history of any given topic. Not gonna bother with the links.

Went out to dinner spur of the moment on what happened to be 80’s trivia night. Got second place and a gift card. So many John Hughes questions. Should have had at least one Kilmer question.

Checking out. Local drum shop with the kiddos and saw one of my favorite drummers, the great @willcalhoun.bsky.social had been there. Junk Rock Drums in Fort Washington.

Val Kilmer was my first favorite actor. Chris Knight and Nick Rivers still entertain me endlessly. Rest in peace. apple.news/AVaDvZz06ShS...

Charismatic and versatile, he also won praise for memorable roles as Iceman in 'Top Gun' and Doc Holliday in 'Tombstone,' but his unpredictable behavior ruffled some feathers in Hollywood.

Rewatching Aquaman for the first time since it was new. Wow. It’s not holding up, even in the first 15 minutes.

I recommend the Sly Stone doc on Hulu by Questlove. He was so ahead of his time. Thanks for the insight @vurnt22.bsky.social

I’m not sure who at HULU thought the academy awards would end on time. That would be almost as miraculous than reason from our politicians.

I’ve been reading too many sci-fi, future space travel / colonization books of late. Not complaining, but they’re starting to run together. Currently blazing through Mickey 7 before I hopefully see the movie.
