Movies are so fucking beautiful dude. I fucking love how weird human beings are and that we feel this undying, inexplicable need to enact fantasy images and scenarios that end up spinning into creations that communicate truths in mere seconds that we struggle to capture in entire lifetimes.

Films that end on pure imagery, no dialogue, just a frontal assault of sensory input are the best.

I should clarify also that I’m not saying that the audience laughed BECAUSE of what is in the final moments of the film, but that the laughter showed how quite a decent chunk of the audience didn’t seem to care or even realize what was right in front of them, which is downright ignorant.

There was a cool dude there who was a huge Romero fan though! We talked about MARTIN and our shared love for DAWN OF THE DEAD, so that was very nice. I think it was just incredibly saddening seeing the kind of racism the film's ending exposes play out in real time 57 years later.
