Lewenberg also said the Raptors’ recent slump highlights how important RJ Barrett is to their offense. Barrett’s knee sprain has turned out “more serious than they thought,” shifting to week-to-week after a PRP injection. He’s “not close” to returning, but the upcoming 10-day break should help.

Lewenberg also downplayed the idea of pursuing Anthony Davis. In his view, the Raptors may not want to “double down on two injury-prone stars,” and any interest would depend heavily on the price.

Murray added one caveat on the Suárez race: while the Dodgers were originally in that trio, “I have to imagine the Dodgers are probably not involved anymore… that would leave the Jays and the Mets.”
