And sadly, it most likely won’t get far. There’s about 2 million people with investment properties, and a few hundred thousand first home buyers.

It does, a little. But if the race is incredibly tight, by the time it gets to that point, it does become important. (The closest seat from memory in the local elections here was about 100 votes)
