Un des enjeux essentiels de l'antivalidisme est de rompre la binarité handi/valide, qui fait que nous serions une catégorie fondamentalement "autre", alors qu'il s'agit bien évidemment d'un continuum, dans lequel la validité est un pur concept, personne n'est jamais tout le temps 100% valide.

I'm a fundamentally different person than I was just a few years ago, in more ways than just how I look, and nearly every single one of those changes has been the result of a conscious decision to change who I am, hopefully for the better.

It's empowering as all hell, and it applies to everyone.

I used to often find myself thinking, "I wish I was the kind of person...", whether the rest of that sentence was about a personality trait, or a skill, or even just the way I engage with the world, but nowadays I short circuit that thought, and recognize that I can just become that kind of person.
