Current fascination is “Meme Bait”. Moments and jokes which feel ham-fisted and forced, because they are clearly meant to be clipped and made into a meme.
One might think that audiences would see through this, and find it off-putting. But usually… no. The moment is meme-ified exactly as intended.

When I first played Super Mario Galaxy, I didn’t like it. I was a fan of the semi-open world of Sunshine. So the more focused linear gameplay turned me off.
After years of hearing people talk about why they loved it, I tried again. I realized I loved it too. Played the sequel & loved it even more.

Not only is this a great visual gag, it’s the type of joke that’s funnier the more you think about it.
Just imagine Janine and Gregory in their apartment, watching Jurassic Park… and the scene that gets them both excited is the damn exposition scene with Mr DNA.

The AI version changes the expressions of the characters. The BF appears to be somewhat self-aware or ashamed. The other girl is explicitly aware of what’s happening. It’s less clear if the GF is upset at her BF, the other girl, or both.

Young Justice is a show I love because it truly taps into the potential of serialized storytelling, showing a sense of progression in its fictional world. We see characters grow up, fall in and out of love, and retire. The young upstarts of one season become the mentors/veterans of later seasons.

I can’t get over the fact that everyone in the Witcher 3 is an avid Gwent player. It’s like if at every place Sam & Frodo stopped on the way to Mordor people were holding Magic: The Gathering tournaments.
