Now that New York City elected a mayor running on a working class, Democratic-socialist platform, I look forward to my own city of Los Angeles getting its own version of a Mamdani.

Congratulations to Zohran Mamdani with his mayoral race victory! In a year filled with so much despair, I woke up feeling hopeful today with his, and other election results, around the nation.

Back in the 90's, I read "The Heart and Soul of Nick Carter: Secrets Only a Mother Knows" by Jane Carter.

As a die-hard Backstreet Boys fan in my teens, it was basically required reading for me. I kind of wish I still had my copy of that terrible book.

Top 3 horror movies (old and new) I saw in April:

Sinners (2025)
Grafted (2024)
Vampire in Brooklyn (1995)

Why do most of my creative, inspired ideas come to me at inconvenient times (example: while driving, or at the wicked hour of 3 a.m.?)

I appreciate the movie "Sinners" even more after hearing Elvis Mitchell's interview with writer and director Ryan Coogler.

Just watched "Vampire in Brooklyn" (1995) for the first time. It's like a scarier and funnier version of "Coming to America."

Ben Stiller once starred in a sci-fi flop that could have spawned a franchise, but audiences were busy seeing other films in theaters instead.

Ending a great weekend by watching "Sinners" in the theater. This Gothic horror has to be appreciated in the big screen, especially by vampire freaks such as me.

So excited to see this on the big screen!
