All our detergents, soaps, personal care products, cleaners, etc. don't disappear once they leave the drain - they end up in the water supply, so opt for non-toxic products as much as possible. I had been using natural detergent from my local refill store but I tried making some today.

Trump tariffs are kicking in. I went to order rain barrel kits and our supplier said they had to increase our usual price by $4 per kit to compensate for the tariffs.

My girls will not eat homemade mac & cheese because it is "too cheesy". They prefer the type from the box. On my quest to reduce waste & costs, we tried this mac & cheese powder. They loved it, despite it being vegan and not really cheesy at all.

I'm thinking I am going to switch my registration to Republican in hopes of getting more moderates through the system. What I wouldn't give for another G.W. Bush right now.

After the horrors of this week, I'm thinking about stepping a toe into doomsday prepping. Anyone want to join me?
The Doomsday Clock has never been closer to metaphorical midnight. What does it mean?

I switched to oat "milk" a few years ago, for cholesterol and eco-reasons, but only recently did I realize how easy it is to make your own. And there are recipes to use up the pulp, so there's no waste. It doesn't cut it for me as coffee creamer, so I blend it with coconut milk.

In case anyone would like to celebrate, after tomorrow's legit holiday, there are a bunch of frivolous holidays this week:

Tuesday - International Sweatpants, Cheesy Sock, Granola Bar, and Squirrel Appreciation Day

Wednesday - Library Shelfie, Hot Sauce, Blonde Brownie, and Polka Dot Day

I am trying to avoid falling into a pit of despair and celebrating frivolous holidays. Tomorrow is National Hot Buttered Rum day. Has anyone had hot buttered rum? Is it any good? If it's gross, I could pivot to National Hot Heads Chili Day, National Popeye day, National Bootlegger's Day, etc..
