I'm an editor and a reader who is looking for other diverse writers and readers to connect with. https://theeditortnt.com/link-in-bio/
I know I’ve talked about this book before, but I want to talk about it again for any writers looking for ways to self-edit. As an editor, I will always recommend developmental editing, manuscript evaluation, or beta reading for brand-new manuscripts.

Read 2/12

“The story of Black bookstores isn’t some dull account of forgotten business owners and old tomes collecting dust. It is an exciting account of resistance, violence, espionage, community, and joy.” —Char Adams, Black-Owned

Reading has always been political.

I finally started 107 Days by Kamala Harris. The book opens with this quote:

The amount of energy necessary to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it. —Alberto Brandolini.

Damn, that's where we're starting? 🤭 Let's go then. #booksky

I'm only a little way in and I already suspect this to be one of those stories that constantly makes me think "Dafuq?" #blackbooksky

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The book is an entertaining read about witches taking sides during WWII. If you're into the supernatural and okay with the dark aspects that come it, this book may be for you.

Just finished reading Octavia Butler's Mind of My Mind. 🤯 This is easily my favorite of her books and my book of the year so far. I'm still recovering... #booksky

Finished Out There Screaming, edited by Jordan Peele.
5⭐️/5
Clearly, I’ve been sleeping on anthologies. Jordan Peele’s name and the fact that this book is all horror stories by Black writers had some serious appeal. #booksky

Current read: The Devils by Joe Abercrombie.
After months of waiting for my turn on my library's waitlist, I was unprepared for its heft! There had better not be any long dream sequences or descriptions of forests. Every word had better count🤣 Never been a fan of a book that talks too much. #booksky

My current (re)read. When I read the synopsis for the book, I was so excited to add it to my StoryGraph TBR, only to realize I'd read the book 10 years ago 😅. I couldn't remember characters, plot, setting...nothing. I'm 80 pages in now, and it's still like reading it for the first time.
