I've struggled to articulate purdys value, but this is a spot on evaluation. He can operate Kyle's offense better than anyone we have seen in SF.

Great segment! I've found it odd that one of the most innovative offensive minds in the game hasn't evolved his team's defensive approach. With everyone predicting Ulbrich as the next hire, it seems that won't change soon. Go (Cal) Bears!

If there are changes to the defensive coaching staff, do you foresee the niners reevaluating their defensive philosophy as a whole? Perhaps pursuing someone from the Macdonald or Flores tree?

Shanahan looked to Seattle for his defensive philosophy when he was first hired. With the success of Mike Macdonald, do they look there again? Or would it require too large of a shift in philosophy/personnel ?

First time in Kyle's tenure that I have doubted his ability right the ship. What is this feeling, and why does it feel so awful?
