At dawn, the sun peeks past the lower left corner of one of the orange sandstone tombs at Hegra in Saudi Arabia. Just after sunset, the sky is lit up in a gradient of dark blue, punctuated with stars, one of the flat topped pyramids of Meroe stands in the foreground; the entrance is lit with a lantern. A peek-a-boo orange-hued view of the Treasury at Petra in Jordan from the Siq entrance to the ancient sight.
