But it does help moderate Democrats. The filibuster is the magic wand they can wave to never have to do anything in power. They'd be terrified to get rid of it, because their main fig leaf would be gone.

But you do see why people don't buy your excuse for them on the Epstein emails, correct? It's hard to not see this as the NYT having double standards on what is newsworthy, depending on the politics of who they want to try to embarrass. Mamdani? Fair game. Epstein and Trump? Eh, not so much.

Well, one thing we know: the Democratic Senate Caucus will do everything in their power to help prop the GOP up. Nothing terrifies Schumer and many other Dem Senators like being in power and being expected to help Americans.

Extremely noticeable that, when pressed on what Plan B for the ACA extensions is, you just stop replying and go harass other people for daring to criticize these Dem senators. It kind of seems like you agree there is no Plan B, and these Senators killed Plan A by re-opening the government.

So what's the plan to get these extensions now? Tying then to re-opening the government was the one bit of leverage Dems had. You have notably not even once offered the Plan B for this now. I think we all know the extensions are just dead now.

Was this not the entire point of holding the line? To force the GOP to pass the extension in exchange for re-opening the government? Caving removes all pressure from the GOP because they got what they wanted, and can now do exactly what you're describing and never vote to pass the extension

I never thought this would be the case where it is overturned,but I remain skeptical of the commentators who assure us Obergefell is safe, longer term. They have probably 3 votes already. If, God forbid, something happens to Sotomayor, with her health problems, are we sure there wouldn't be 5 votes?
