Playing the bongos (probably on Talking Heads 'Burning Down the House')

That's your perception and theirs is different. But just asserting, as you have, something does not win the argument.

Indeed. Thanks.

Definitely plagiarism but the clip doesn't seem to explain how they know that Rembrandt copied from vd Venne (who was a contemporary) and not the other way round. Or did I miss something?

Wir waren im Urlaub von England in der Eiffel und sind zum Spiel gegangen. Mehrere Debütanten für Arsenal (z. B. van Persie) und auch mehrere Finalauftritte (z. B. Cazorla). Ein gutes Spiel.

Yes, and the Rijksmuseum and the National Gallery in London. I love other genre painters of gouden eeuw (especially Steen & de Hoogh) but it just feels like one Vermeer might leave you feeling short changed.

That was in Dublin BTW

I was just about to look at easyJet prices till I saw that! There was a fantastic "Vermeer and the Masters of Genre Painting: Inspiration and Rivalry" in 2017 which had about 10 Vermees, so I shall just rely on the memories of that

I'm aware of that (I used to live 5 minutes away) but that name is like the pedigree name of a dog - it may be 'officially' Brindis Eloquent of Shrigley, but it answers to, say, Prince. Prince is not a nickname and nor was Highbury.

Highbury was a lot more than a nickname, it's what everyone, including the club called it. It's even embroidered on the back of my shirt from the last year at Highbury.

Fair enough 😉

It might be salmorejo which is another cold soup but just made with tomatoes and bread rather than all the other veg that usually goes into gazpacho

Great bass player - one of the ultimate session musicians and super-versatile.

The only fact in what you've posted is that the offside was marginal; everything else is just in your head - no basis for a rational discussion.
Offside is pretty much factual so less room for bias. That said, Brentford got an offside goal v Arsenal when the VAR 'forgot' to draw the line.
February 5, 2025 at 8:44 PM
No, I'm not suggesting that but I do think there is evidence to suggest (possibly unconscious) bias.
If you watch football you'll know that the threshold for a second yellow is typically higher in practice.
I see you didn't give any examples of players getting sent off for kicking the ball away.
February 5, 2025 at 7:36 PM
It's not about bookings, it's about getting sent off after a second yellow given for 'delaying the restart'. How many of those can you cite?
February 5, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Well, if you can give me any other examples of a second yellow being given for delaying the restart or of a yellow being upgraded to red for a slight tug on halfway, then maybe I'll listen. Also, what conservative tactics exactly do you see in any of those incidents?
January 29, 2025 at 5:31 PM
You made a comment and I gave you a polite response - which was not 'countung red cards' but analysing the data (in response another cretin). I did not claim to be doing anything profound. Life's too short to waste it on people like you.
BLOCKED

The stats tell you that something is going on rather than just random variations (only a 1 in 40 chance of that) and you're right, it doesn't tell us causation but tells us we need to look for causes. The fact it doesn't do something that wasn't its purpose doesn't make it woeful. It's a first step

Must be boring making shit up. And I cannot engage with meanless comments.

...against Arsenal as against Liverpool but he gives Liverpool a red roughly every 600 fouls and Arsenal one per 75. And, if course, it's the reds that do the most damage.
