It seems to me that congress should make and laws again. If they took hold of their power as an equal branch there would be less ability make mayhem from the president and less devastation over Supreme Court decisions.

I’ve been thinking about Apple & their seeming lack of inspiration right now. @reckless.bsky.social talks about a quote of Steve Jobs regarding MS. “They have no taste”. Apple vs Samsung & Android was big because they had different views how a smartphone should be.
Now, I’m not so sure they do.

Social media is a quick hit of dopamine, that’s the reason I still use it by reflex, but man is it increasingly more boring as the middle of the curve takes up more view counts.

@reckless.bsky.social the computer is using itself. Perplexity Comet was able to navigate my Airtable, add a contact, create an automation, and design an interface. Sure it was slow, but I was able to prompt it, work on something else, and come back & it was done. It’s an assistant, not replacement.

Liquid Glass is snappy and it sucks. There are intuitive actions missing, the camera experience is worse, and the windowfication of menus, along with overlapping texts because of the glass effect, feels busy and confusing.

Irony not lost on me, I think everyone should not be allowed to express political views online. The cons seem, to me, to be far more regressive and anti-democratic than to not allow them.

Every social media app needs to allow dislikes. Posts, tweets, threads, and the like should all have the opportunity to be ratio’d. It would fix everything.

I am apart of the problem. I hate short form content so much, it’s all derivative piles of crap and view farming. Still, I open apps watch because I still hope for that diamond in the rough. The one that will be creative and clever.
