Eugene Williams, the local civil rights leader and affordable housing advocate, has died at 97. One of the last cover stories in The Hook was about Eugene Williams and his experience growing up in Jim Crow Charlottesville.

It's appears the City has struck a deal to settle White v. Charlottesville City Council, the lawsuit challenging the legality of the new zoning ordinance. If the City submits requested traffic studies to VDOT, the plaintiffs will drop the lawsuit.

Traffic so bad they've got police directing traffic at the 250/20 intersection. A vehicle hit the Old Ivy Road bridge that's under construction earlier today -- which was already slowing traffic -- and shut down traffic on 29 in both directions. Happy Monday!
