Same.
I haven't really made significant changes to our family's credit card points & miles strategy since before the pandemic - got lazy, went for low hanging fruit. With today's Chase Sapphire Reserve announcements, I think a complete overhaul will now finally be in order.

Throwing away decades of goodwill.
‼️Southwest to abandon its "Bags Fly Free" policy‼️

Effective May 28, general flyers will no longer get two free checked bags. You'll need to have a Southwest card or elite status to check even a single bag for free.

Absolutely wild to me that Southwest is eliminating its competitive advantage!

You might have read posts alluding to a spike in home sales around Washington, D.C. tied to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s DOGE team reducing the federal workforce. But @fortune.com checked with REALTORS watching the numbers—and they said they've just seen normal market fluctuations so far.
D.C.’s housing market is stable for now, despite what you’ve seen on social media tied to Trump cuts to the federal workforce
It may be too soon to know how much the Trump and Musk-led workforce cuts could change what it looks like to live in Washington, D.C.

I hate this for my friends, but it is the least surprising outcome ever.
I have always found it to be a great advantage to not be doing *exactly* what everyone else in the travel hacking space is doing at any given time. I leave a lot of money on the table but I've never regretted it milesearnandburn.com/index.php/20...

The freedom to write what you want to because it's fun is a needle in Google's dung heap. Well reasoned argument.
Back in the day (before SEO ruined the fun) the miles & points community used to have some really spirited multi-blog debates about travel topics. What's old is new again! Thx @thediaadams.bsky.social for inspiring this abt the 2025 value of Disney destinations.

Intimidated by Disney prices and planning? No need to go to Paris. Just come to California!
As Disney World gets increasingly expensive & complex, Disneyland Paris may not be the best alternative - Disneyland in California may be!

I wrote a best-selling Disney World guidebook, but now no longer recommend a visit for most families. Ticket prices have increased 9X the rate of inflation over the last decade and you get less for the exorbitant price you pay. I just can’t let that go.
