Alright Philly, it's 6:30 AM. We all saw nothing, right? Ben's back on his plinth at the Library Company, looking perfectly stoic. Good morning to our favorite historically animated resident.

Across from the Alamo stands one of Texas’s most haunted hotels. Before it had beds and bellhops, it had operating rooms, a morgue, and battlefield dead beneath its foundation. The Emily Morgan Hotel has 𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴 of ghost stories.

On this day in 1787 in Philadelphia, delegates convene a Constitutional Convention to write a new Constitution for the United States. That chair at the back center? Yes, that one. George Washington sat there, presiding over the debates. #philadelphia #onthisday #may14

The locked gate to the hospital wing at Eastern State Penitentiary. Once used to treat inmates with tuberculosis, injuries, and mental illness, the wing is now only accessible by guided tour. Al Capone had his tonsils removed here in 1929.

Charming home with a picturesque view of the graveyard, perfect for those looking to prepare for the inevitable.

Meanwhile, 19th-century “doctor” W.T. Conway moved his practice next to the Old Granary Burying Ground, for the convenience of his patients. Bold strategy.

🌞 A glass-topped tomb once let sunlight shine onto Lelia Hansell’s face. But visitors claimed to see a skeleton, a lace-trimmed gown, even flowers. 👀 By 1939, the town sealed it in concrete. Why? I dug into the mystery (& built a miniature!) → https://buff.ly/3QcDUdm

I mean, who doesn’t love a good ghost story with a side of cemetery beautification? Found this little gem while digging (not literally) into the legend of Cat Man’s Grave. History is weird, y’all.

The SS United States is looking extra spooky tonight! At one time she was the biggest ocean liner entirely built in the US and also the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic. #SSUnitedStates #thedeadhistory #philadelphia

Did you know? The Brown Palace Hotel’s dining room was once filled with live music. Legend says one night, an employee heard melodies coming from the empty room. Inside, ghostly musicians in formal wear replied, “Oh, don’t worry about us. We live here.”

Would you have stayed to listen?
