Anyone heard about the data strike? No social media Dec 24 and 25. It would be easier than picket lines and you can still hang out with friends and family, or read books and talk to no family. Whatever's clever.

Has anyone heard of that guy who arbitrarily chose the most beautiful phrase in the English language as "Cellar door?" I propose another phrase as an arbitrary beautiful sound. 'Prescriptive authority' sounds nice to me. Any better ones out there?

Why is it that CVS pharmacy owns both the pharmacy and pharmacy benefits manager? (They own 2 actually. Aetna, Caremark) Then they get to decide how much to pay pharmacies for the medications. The small chain pharmacies get underpaid, lose money, go out of business. CVS gets their patients. Greed.

Pharmacy Benefits Managers give up to 2 overrides per medication per year. This gives patients medications up to 2 additional months of medication for the same copays. Sometimes patients lose their medications. Maybe everyone lost their medications. Maybe everyone should get more medications.

Don't get me started on Medicare. The "donut hole" is a ridiculous term for a scenario where these 65+ yr old patients have to pay hundreds of dollars for blood thinner medications. The PBM just stops paying for the majority of the medication. Eliquis. Xarelto. Breo Ellipta. The list goes on.

Pharmacy Benefits Managers(PBM) are the goons of the insurance companies to deny the medications of patients. The majority of my job is to write out arguments on why the patient should be allowed to have meds and yell at the insurance companies until we get a response.

Working in pharmacy is terrible. The amount of times I've told elderly patients that I can't send them their medications because they haven't paid their copays is heartbreaking. I can't even screw over the company to give them their meds because I work for an independent with razor thin margins.
