Musical dabbler of no threat to the professionals, 45-year coder for cash, curiosity and kudos. De facto butler to small dog.
On one particular local road I play the game of counting how many union flags have been patriotically hung upside down. Even in the dark it shouldn’t be that hard.

Tasty eight string centre left!

A great read (like parts one and two) but this has the added “was I there? Oh Yes!” factor. Remembered like yesterday? Random pick: Panixsphere + Huge Baby + Map.

And both ends have the same plug! Inspired!

Please tell me this is not AI slop?

I may be wrong but the Stray Cats achieved their initial success with UK fans before gaining traction in the USA, hence erroneously being thought of as English?

Five short years and a month later, my band played the Half Moon, my first “proper” pub gig. U2-level success did not follow.

It’s the neighbours I feel sorry for.

I recall there are two different sets of lyrics by the same songwriter. Canned Heat recorded “Let’s Work Together” so were less taxed by the challenged of articulation.

I think I know whereof you speak and can only agree. I had to learn it for a one-off covers band gig once but by some miracle they didn’t end up performing it. I give equal ranking to Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” - musically atrocious.

It’s been my preference starting from version 8 lite. For live use I like being able to put MIDI loops on a track in arrangement mode, some of which are audio and some lighting cues going to a DMX application. And some automation instructions going to a digital mixer. Ticks all the boxes for me😬

Thee Headcoats (Billy Childish project) in some North London pub, mid 90’s. Deliberately retro PA that couldn’t compete with backline. Band re-tuned _to each other’s instruments_ between every cliched garage rock mess of a song. Couldn’t bail as accompanied by then-girlfriend and her mates.

I’ll go with Raising Arizona, the scene where they’re caught trying to sneak the kid back home.

I sympathise. Spent 17:00 Saturday to 12:00 Sunday in Kings College Hospital A&E. Early part of that was sat in front of a TV showing Dr Who Eurovision pastiche followed by actual Eurovision final. TV had the sound off and the subtitles on - so as not to clash with the announcements & canned music.

Oh no, how sad. Bunty Chunks were more than some nifty musicians with amazing riffs. Lisa’s vocal was so integral to the whole vibe. And yes, as I may (?!?) have been quoted in the linked page, you had to see it all happening in front of you live. RIP

Not sure if Trump really worries much whether Putin is a friend to the US. It’s more about whether Putin and his cabal are friends to Trump and his cabal and how Trump can enrich himself accordingly.

Takes me back 20 years to a large Siemens data centre near Paderborn, Germany hosting a pan-European SAP system for PwC. Should have had backup power supply from a separate power generating station. One night the main one went down and guess what? Both feeds from there and nowhere else🙄

Thanks, believe I’ve heard that but sadly forgotten over time.
