Twelve hours into a reorganization of 30+ longboxes of comics. Rebagging/boarding a few titles, integrating convention back issue purchases, shifting comics, etc. I did take a late lunch break and a few other little breaks. But I’m still only on box nine. 😭😭😭

Also. My poor knees tomorrow.

Here's the Scott Koblish "Friends" cover to Superman Treasury for those that haven't seen it. I do a breakdown of the characters in this ep. Of the few that I have questions on, I saw online that the character next to Perry White might be George Taylor, the Daily Star EIC of the Golden Age!

I guess riffing on your own art makes sense when it’s this good. Both by Joe Chiodo. House ad in Marvel Age 9 from 1983. And cover to Alien Worlds 7 from 1984. Notice the opposite placement of Dazzler’s light and the robot’s hand reflection. Awesome work.

I was multiple back pains years old when I realized that Pérez drew Reed shaping his body into a “4” in Infinity Gauntlet issue 2. 😄🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m all caught up on the two GL titles on the DCU app. I’m really enjoying them in story and for the art. Interesting new status quos for Hal and John, I don’t need to know about the previous era, and there are enough “mysteries” to keep me invested. Strong titles so far.

But the New Gods/Kirby homage pages? Can you guess this artist? Because I was surprised.

Finally read Superman and Batman: World’s Funnest by Evan Dorkin “and friends” from 2000. Yes there are pages by Alex Ross, Frank Miller, Sheldon Moldoff, Dave Gibbons, Glen Murakami, Scott Shaw!, Phil Jimenez and others.

This ad and comic (and costume). Definitely an “I was there when…” moment. I saw the ad, dug the costume and the ad copy, needed to buy and read and own the mini. It didn’t disappoint. And here’s a 2022 take by Kael Ngu from an alt cover to Aquaman/Green Arrow: Deep Target 4.

Found this Keith Giffen write up from Dan Didio’s DC Nation column no.91. From DC Comics cover dated Feb 08.

That’s great. Neckline plunges just a lil deep but other than that she’s really on model for how Pérez drew her.
