maybe someday i'll write a villanelle about a subject that doesn't feel like painting over something cold and empty

maybe my only thought is i probably should not have written it. it's good, people have told me as much. and i can see that. but my heart was never in this one. it was meant for other people, but not meant for me.

i don't know how to feel about people seeming to really like a poem i wrote that i actually kind of hate. it makes my skin crawl a little bit. but i don't think it would be fair to deprive people of something they enjoy just because the creator hates it.

i wrote about holding your loved ones close, but there is no one holding me close.

but gonna be out of town soon visiting family, and ive never been good with that, either.

hanukkah is continuing to be exactly as isolating as all the rest of it all.

my current closest friend is away out of town, and i get to stay in their empty apartment.

didn't get the chance to get her the actual gift that i wanted to. because i wanted to make it. but physical illness and depression killed that idea, even tho i had it in mind for months.

i did manage to see another person yesterday, and her family was around, so at least a little bit more live human interaction.
