like yes obviously the kpop fandom has a problem with fetishizing asian people as a whole. i definitely have had to check myself at times and pull back to relearn things and re-evaluate my intentions when i say things. but holy fuck it feels like its gotten so much worse.

my least favorite part is the infantilization of many members. the designation of twink or bear without any care for what it actually means within gay male culture.

again, that's the academic usage. not the casual day to day usage.

queer can mean someone is nonbinary or trans without them being gay. that's just how people use it. i'm not excluding the existence of gay people by sayin queer. i'm just trying to say that xlov hasn't said anything about being gay. they have said things about being queer from a gender perspective.

i don't understand why you're sending me this. i understand this already. however while yes, this is what it means in an academic sense i'm not using it in one. queer is a catch all, while gay is a specific identity.

yes! i believe asking about pronouns is much more respectful. one's gender and sexuality though is private information that they have the right to hide or show.

because queer encompasses gender identity and gay is used as a term for sexuality. i'm not talking about the group in their concept - one they use 'genderless' for - but the individual members, who have not given us any information about their sexuality.
