Suspect by Robert Crais. Published in 2013. Currently has so many reservations at the library it’s not available until September 2028. I’m sure I’ve read it when it came out, but I’m curious as to why it’s so in demand at Wigan Libraries?

The Murder at Worlds End - Ross Montgomery. It’s 1910 and Steven Pike, newly released from Borstal, arrives in Cornwall for a second chance. Except the Viscount is consumed by fear of Halleys Comet, and Pike is tasked with the care of Decima, an 80 year old f-bomb dropping loose cannon. #booksky ⚡️📚💙

Octobers reads. There are also a load of books I’ve started but not yet finished. Quite a few re-reads this month as my brain has been in a bad bad place and needed the comfort of familiarity 📚💙⚡️ #booksky

Happy #Caturday from FatBrian who has just spotted birds nesting in the guttering and is now singing to the corner of my bedroom ceiling.

So my GP made a referral to a specialist in 2022. I chased it in 2024. Chased today and they can’t find the original referral, only the 2024 request, so I have at least another 2-3 years to wait. I don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m not coping with today. Time to go snuggle with FatBrian.

Feeling sorry for myself today. Bad spell with #Ménière’s disease, and today have had a grommet put in my ear under local anaesthetic to see if it helps. The registrar dropped the first grommet on the floor, the second down the sink, the third fell into my ear canal and had to be suctioned out.

Happy publication day to @caimhmc.bsky.social - Ring The Bells is out today. One of my favourite new series, this instalment sits comfortably next to Pratchett’s Hogfather. Riotous humour, action, and an emotional punch that made me cry. #booksky 💙📚

The Proof of the Pudding by @rachaelgray.bsky.social Review: Dr Laurel Nightingale and friends find themselves trapped in spooky Elderwick Hall, cut off during a storm. And bodies begin to mount up. Beautifully written, a joy to read, impossible to put down. 💙📚⚡️
