Godzilla is famous here, yeah. We got the 1966 Ultraman on TV a little after it broadcast in Japan, but only a few English releases after that. Until the Netflix anime came out, Ultraman was fairly obscure in America except for superhero fans like me.

I even have some old soft vinyl Ultraman toys!

You can tell if this is the issue by looking inside. This is an American Super Nintendo, but most of the capacitors are in the same place. I circled the capacitors in red. If you see any brown leakage at the bottom of them, that means they've reached the end of their life and need replacing.
