Learning through teaching.
Always bring art supplies to a hotel…there is always down time at a conference.

The little one is Maxine. The big one is Kiara. I dreamed that Kiara could do sign language with me the other night and I woke up feeling close to her in a new, weird and wonderful way. 🤣🐕

WOW! Cory Booker isn't holding back!

Love these nutty dogs! Note to self: always seek joy! No matter how cold, wet, muddy…there is joy to be found.

So proud of my daughter, for having a long conversation with her great uncle - a staunch, adamant, loud and long winded Trump supporter.
Did he…the world…or our trajectory as a nation change last night?
No, but a moment of connection in an otherwise torn family fabric felt hopeful and promising.

There are two elements I love in a song…any song. I love when it just stops…(hammer time!) then carries on…and I love a slide up -think of the word “somewhere” in over the rainbow.

For whatever reason I was thinking about these elements in my teaching practice.

Abrupt stop, gentle slide up… hmmm

You know that feeling when someone says the words you’re searching for…eloquently…elegantly…entirely?
I feel goofy for admitting how much I love my job…but today I discovered the words for why I do.

Push through the discomfort while caring for the wound.

Unsure what I mean?

Please…ask.

Consuming and absorbing the stuff of others is a big part of my job as a high school teacher. I balance the intake by scribbling…arting. I just archive on my SM. Planning is a big part of my job…so I don’t plan when I art. Here is todays’s scribble. A knot in bubbles- maybe describes my job too 🤣

Every night is a three dog night at our house!

Willow, BoBo (Beau) and Kiara sleep like no one’s business!

Today I found myself thinking that I don’t really mind if someone is trying to change my perspective, but I am uncomfortable with the idea of my perception being toyed with. …so I decided to just art…and this is what made its way to my paper tonight.
