Having consulted copilot, not a very reliable source, I have to modify this. Perhaps I'm seeing more provocative material because I interact with it. That definitely happens. It's a comforting thought, although still scary considering there are people being radicalised by it.

Good point, up to a point. There are plenty of real people on there and many of them are truly terrifying. Others are perfectly sensible people fighting the good fight.

Yes, and there are plenty of people who don't want to be informed because they've already made up their mind and don't want their worldview challenged. They invest their identity in it, so the last thing they want is to be convinced that they're wrong.

So he dies, then you get JD in office for a couple of years to get ready for the next election. If he wins that, or gets around it somehow, that's six years to consolidate. Either him or Stephen Miller. Trump is not the one making strategy, I don't think. It'll be interesting to see if they split.

Head over to X and see the people who are right behind it, saying more more more. They love it, and are positively itching for any excuse to start shooting and hanging politicians they don't like. There's no shortage, and not a few of them are quite well trained and armed, one way and another.

You were a long way from where you are now, not very long ago. The speed is on purpose, to paralyze opposition. You have to act ahead of them, not react. You have to anticipate the most extreme thing you think they might do and organize to prevent that and prepare for it if you can't prevent it.

You have a lot less than a year. Speed is part of the technique. Do so many outrageous, unbelievable things so fast that people can't keep up. I'm speculating that the Democratic Party will be declared a subversive terrorist organization sometime soon, though I don't generally make predictions.

Yes, I agree, but I also think many people formulate arguments in binaries, and declare one side all-good & the other all-evil ("pure evil"). Unhelpful.
People also have daily lives to get about, and don't have time for the three-hour lecture it would take to explain what's going on in the ME, eg.

The other really serious block the campaign will encounter is the rock-hard opposition of many people to giving someone something they haven't 'earned'. Huge numbers of people think it's better that someone should die than that they be given something for free. This is a core value for many people.

I'm in favour of the ubi idea, but inflation is one of the most serious issues that needs to be addressed. I agree with you, up to a point, but I think these concerns really do have to be addressed.

UBI and wealth taxes are both correct answers, not easy answers. Doing difficult correct things is what politics should be all about. If you're not putting effort into a correct thing because it's not easy, I don't think you're doing your duty as a citizen correctly.
